Sundaze | Quick – easy makeup for a day out

Hello, hello, hello!

What’s UP. What’s the 411. Hollaaaa at yaaaaa. What else do people say these days? Hey, BAE. I think I puked a little bit inside my mouth as I typed that. Again, another lovely mental image for you to hold on to. Heart emoji. How’s everyone doing today? It’s Sunday! Did you do anything fun today? Do you have any plans for the afternoon? I’m about to head out to have dinner with my parents and maybe (hopefully), we’ll have some ice cream after. 🍟🍗🍦🍨🍧

It’s starting to get really, really, really hot around here. So hot to the point where I think I might put the foundation down for a while, at least until I get used to the warm weather again. I decided to go a little bit natural and simple with my makeup today, so here are some pictures of the products I used and hopefully some of you will use this as inspiration to create a similar laid back look!

I used my favorite palette – Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar palette on my eyes. I only used the two shades indicated with the cute lil stars. I applied the light, boney color all over my lid and up to my browbone as a base color (don’t forget to prime your lids! I used the trustworthy eyeshadow primer potion by Urban Decay) and the brown shade as a transition color. I applied eyeliner after that, as I religiously do to get my signature cat eye look and I curled my lashes for a flirty look before applying Benefit’s Real Lash mascara and last but not least, added some color to my lips with Nyx’s soft matte lip cream in the shade Istanbul.

What are your go-to products for a quick, simple look? I’d love to know if there are any great products I’m missing out on!

Don’t forget to wear sunscreen if you plan on spending the day out because ya girl went to the beach about a week ago and my arms are peeling now. Not a cute look, trust me.

I hope you’re all having a good day and I will talk to you soon!

PS. My initial goal was to gain five followers a day and get at least ten views per day on my first month but I’ve gained so many followers on the past couple days and the views have been on the hundredths! How crazy is that?! Thank you all so much.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit | Review

image3

Hello, hello, hello! I am back with another review, this time on Anastasia Beverly Hills’ contour kit/palette. I was honestly really excited about getting this beauty right here because I did notice a lot of people going cray-cray over it for the past couple months and for the longest time, I tried to avoid getting it because I was “happy” with my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzing powder but I finally gave in and decided to join the bandwagon to see what this whole hype was about. Embarrassed emoji.

On Anastasia Beverly Hills website, they describe this product as “the premier contour and highlighting palette for professional makeup artists and makeup enthusiasts alike. Features 6 perfectly crafted highlighting and contouring shades for sculpting and defining your features.” (x)

This contour kit is available in three different shades: Light to Medium, Medium to Tan, and Tan to Deep and it retails for $40 USD.

I purchased the Light to Medium palette and this one contains six highlighting and bronzing shades – 3 of each. Vanilla, Banana and Sand are the highlighting shades whilst Java, Fawn and Havana are your contouring/bronzing shades.

The first thing I have to say about this product is that it is very pigmented but at the same time, you can build up your way with it. Does that make sense? In other words, there’s enough pigmentation to get a natural, glowy look but if you want a more intense look, just build it up and you will be good to go! Another thing I really liked about this palette is that it will not matter much if I get tan during the summer because I will have darker shades to work with or viceversa, if I don’t leave my room during the winter and turn into a ghost, I will also have lighter shades to work with. It’s a win-win situation!

Right now I’m using the middle highlighting shade (Banana) and the middle contouring shade (Fawn) to sculpt my face and I am obsessed. This is making me want to do my makeup now even though I don’t have any plans for today. I use the highlighting shade – banana- to set my under eye concealer and highlight it at the same time! It’s perfect and it won’t crease, and I use the contour shade – fawn- to sculpt my cheek bones and look like a bad bi$$$hhh.

Overall, I do enjoy this palette and I do think it is worth the price. Do I think it is necessary to have this palette in your makeup collection? Not really, specially if you’re on a budget. You can get away with contouring by using dark foundation/powder and highlighting with eyeshadow. But if you want to get it, definitely go for it!

Benefit’s Real Lash | REVIEW

Hello there! How’s everyone doing this week? If you’re on spring break, I hope you’re having a fun time before going back to school! I have been trying to make the most out of the two weeks of break I got to hang out with my friends and last week my family and I got on a plane and went to Orlando, Florida to visit the Magic Kingdom and explore the city for a couple days! It was so much fun but I am back. While in Florida, I finally gave in and got Too Faced’s Chocolate Palette as well as ABH’s Contour Palette and oh my gosh, I’m in love. (Definitely expect a lil review/haul soon as well!)

Anyway, as promised, I am back with a review on Benefit’s newest mascara – the Real Lash! On Benefit’s website, this mascara claims to “separate, lift and curl while also lasting for 12 hours.”

roller

In three words: This. freakin’. works.

I have been testing this product for about a month and I can proudly say that this has quickly climbed it’s way up through the charts to officially become my favorite mascara. If you follow me on twitter then you have probably been present in one of my rants about how it’s so hard to work makeup on droopy eyes but this little bottle of black ink glory lifts my lashes in a way that makes my eyes look rounder, bigger and definitely flirty. Another thing that I also enjoy about this product is that you can definitely build your way up through the coats without it looking too clumpy or spidery. I have been trying to stay away from fake eyelashes and this has made the whole thing a tad less painful.

Although I just mentioned you can get away with a couple coats without it getting too clumpy, once it does get too much, this mascara will not do the trick of separating your lashes. It isn’t that much of a big deal for me though!

Now, does it last 12 hours? Heck yes. As I mentioned in the introduction of this post, I visited WDW’s Magic Kingdom last week and this was my weapon of choice for my lashes. Lemme tell ya somethin’ girl, this thing kept my lashes curly and flirty looking from 6 am until closing time at 1 am. So yes, this thing will stay on and it will not make you look like a raccoon.

So my final opinion on the product.

I fell in love with this mascara and I do believe it is worth every cent. Apart from the small detail that I did not notice any difference when it comes to separating my lashes, this product gives my eyes that final BOOM factor to make me look great for the day.
